Get a Work Agreement to secure the job

When a client wants to hire you, they have two options: contact you directly using the details they have unlocked, or use Grafter's optional online work agreement tool to formalise the arrangement on the platform.

If the client contacts you directly

You and the client can agree the job details β€” rate, dates, what the work involves directly between you. Make sure you are clear on the rate, payment method, and timing before you start. You do not need to do anything on the Grafter platform to formalise this.

If the client makes a formal offer through Grafter

You will receive a notification that a client has made you a formal job offer through the platform. The offer will include the job details, rate, and start date. Review the details carefully before accepting β€” once you accept, a work agreement is created between you and the client.

The work agreement is directly between you and the client. GrafterNow is not a party to the agreement and is not responsible for either the work being done or the payment being made.

Why the work agreement is useful

Even though it is optional, the online work agreement gives both parties a clear written record of what was agreed. This is particularly useful for longer jobs or repeat arrangements, and provides useful evidence if there is ever a disagreement about what was agreed.
