The most common reason: sharing contact details before a credit is used
The most frequent reason for a grafter account being restricted is that our system detected an attempt to share contact details — a phone number, email address, or social media handle — directly through Grafter's messaging system before the client had used a credit to view them.
The way Grafter works is: browsing, chatting, and posting jobs are all free. When a client wants to view your contact details and take the conversation off-platform, they purchase an access package and use a credit. If contact details are shared through messaging before that credit has been used, both accounts may be restricted.
If a client asked you to send your phone number before they purchased access, they were also breaking the rules. You should decline and let them know they need to purchase access through the platform to view your details.
Other reasons for suspension
• Abusive, threatening, or harassing behaviour toward another user
• Providing false information on your profile or in messages
• Using the platform in a way that violates the Grafter Terms and Conditions
First offence
If this is your first restriction, contact support and we will review your account. First offences related to contact sharing are typically resolved quickly — your account will be unlocked with a formal warning. Please reply to your support message and we will get back to you.
Repeat offences
If you have been warned before and the behaviour has happened again, your account may remain restricted for longer or be permanently closed.
How to avoid restriction in future
Do not share or request phone numbers, email addresses, or any other contact details through Grafter messaging. Wait until a client has purchased access and used a credit to view your details through the platform. After that point you are free to communicate however you both prefer.
